Shelly was born in 1984 and currently lives with her little family, three ducks and rabbit in a small village situated on the edge of Dartmoor.
Ever since she can remember Shelly has always had a creative spark and has dabbled in all ranges of mediums from textiles, jewellery and even glass blowing. She likes to dabble in a bit of DIY and up-cycling around the home, but it was ceramics which captured her heart, she is happiest while making pottery in her little workshop.
Shelly's love of ceramics started when she did a design crafts course in 2000-2005 then in 2011 she took the plunge and started her own ceramics business.
Her inspiration comes from her love of Shabby chic, textiles and buttons so she has tried to incorporate the three in her unique designs with a quirky twist.
Each item is made by hand using the slab building method and hump moulds. She chooses to use porcelain for its translucency and elegant beauty. She specialises in making decorative as well as functional porcelain pieces with a contrast of texture and smooth surfaces then glazes the pieces very simple to let the delicate textures to show through.
